Euthanasia Bill Failed to Move

On April 16, 2020, the Kentucky Legislature closed without a vote on Bill HB 224.

The bill, titled "an act relating to patient directed care at the end of life," had sought to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia, as those terms are traditionally defined. The bill was assigned to the House Health and Family Services Committee, where it failed to move.

The bill is presumed dead for the year.
